Ichigen, the founder of the Tamamizu ware (1662~1722)

Black Raku low cylindrical tea bowl named “Hashin”, ex-collection of the Raku family: A highly deformed body as well as a powerfully traced trimming of the spatula around the hip is characteristic of spontaneous and dynamic style of Ichigen. A black glaze covering the bowl overall is similar to the quality of Ichinyû's glazing.

: The gallery space built underground and the tea room resembling a floating isle on the water are both designed by Kichizaemon XV・Raku Jikinyū and the pavilion is mainly dedicated to the collection of his works produced after 2000.
